Product Overview: The Heavy-Duty Precision Specialist

The FUJI HIC-3802 High-Frequency Straight Grinder is not just a replacement tool; it is an industrial upgrade. Engineered to fill the void left by European brands scaling back 300Hz production, the HIC-3802 is a robust evolution of the legendary HIC-802.

Designed for high-precision metal grinding in confined spaces such as pipe interiors, deep recesses, and welded seams, the HIC-3802 offers seamless compatibility with standard 200V/300Hz high-frequency power sources. Its slender profile and exceptional maneuverability make it the tool of choice for deburring, smoothing, and finishing where conventional angle grinders cannot reach.

Core Advantages

  • Global Supply Solution: Directly fills the void left by FEIN and Bosch scaling back 300Hz production.
  • Plug-and-Play Compatibility: Connects directly to existing 200V/300Hz power supplies, saving costs on new infrastructure.
  • Precision Access: The slender head reaches deep into pipes and joints, enabling flawless finishes in hard-to-reach areas.
  • Enhanced Durability: Features a robust motor and heat-resistant components to reduce downtime and repair costs.
  • Superior Finish: Optimized rotational speed reduces heat buildup, critical for stainless steel applications.

Usage Guidelines

⚠️ Important:
  • Always use a compatible 300Hz high-frequency power source. Connecting to standard 50/60Hz outlets will damage the motor.
  • Ensure mounted wheels are securely fastened and rated for the tool's RPM to avoid dislodgement.

Critical Safety & Operational Guidelines

High-frequency tools operate differently from standard grinders. To ensure safety and longevity, strict adherence to these manual-verified protocols is required.

⚠️ DANGER: Rotation Direction Check

Before use, you MUST confirm the motor rotates in the direction of the arrow mark on the head. Using the grinder in reverse may cause the collet chuck to loosen and the grinding wheel to detach at high speed.

Correction: If rotating in reverse, swap any 2 of the 3 power conductors (Black, White, Red) in the plug to correct the phase.

1. Proper Wheel Mounting Protocol

Improper mounting leads to dangerous vibration. Follow these steps derived from the instruction manual:

  • Inspect the Wheel: Never use a wheel with cracks, chips, or water absorption. Ensure the wheel is rated for at least 50m/s (3000m/min).
  • Overhang Limit: When inserting the mounted wheel into the collet chuck, ensure the overhang is 13mm or less. Excessive overhang causes shaft bending and vibration.
  • Secure Tightening: Use the provided 17mm wrench to hold the spindle and the 12mm wrench to firmly tighten the collet nut.

2. The "50-Hour" Maintenance Rule

To maintain peak performance in dusty foundry environments:

  • Periodic Cleaning: After approximately 50 hours of use, run the motor under no-load and blow moisture-free compressed air through the rear air vent. This removes conductive dust that can accumulate inside the motor windings and cause short circuits.
  • Daily Check: Ensure the "Green" ground wire is securely connected to prevent electric shock.

3. Grinding Technique

Do not force the tool. The high speed (18,000 RPM) does the work. Heavy pressure will reduce rotational speed, overheat the motor, and produce a poor finish. Use the tool's own weight and light contact pressure for optimal results.

Electrical Connection Requirements

This tool requires a dedicated High-Frequency Generator or Converter outputting 200V/300Hz.
NEVER plug this directly into a standard wall socket (50/60Hz), as it will burn out the motor instantly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: Can I use this with my existing 250Hz generator?

While physically possible, it is not recommended. The tool is optimized for 300Hz. Running it at 250Hz will reduce the RPM from 18,000 to approximately 15,000, significantly lowering efficiency. Always verify your generator's specs matches 300Hz.

Q2: What happens if I use a wheel larger than 50mm?

Using a wheel larger than 50mm increases peripheral speed dangerously beyond the safety limit, risking wheel explosion. It also overloads the motor, leading to potential burnout.

Q3: Is the side handle mandatory?

For heavy-duty grinding, yes. The high torque of the 1600W motor requires two-handed operation for maximum safety and stability.

FUJI Industrial Quality & Safety Protocols

Fuji products are manufactured following strict Japanese standard process requirements. Every wheel is engineered to meet or exceed JIS (Japanese Industrial Standards), such as JIS R 6242 and B 4051. Our core engineering logic prioritizes maximum operator protection by maintaining safety factors and burst speed capabilities that often surpass the highest industry benchmarks.

Standard RegionSafety Factor (Burst Multiplier)Safety Logic & Benchmark
FUJI (High Precision)> 2.0xEngineered to exceed JIS requirements for maximum reliability.
Japan (JIS R 6242)2.0xExtreme Safety: A wheel rated at 80m/s must withstand a 160m/s burst test.
Europe (EN 12413)$1.73xRisk Balanced: Provides high safety redundancy for most industrial apps.
USA (ANSI B7.1)1.5xEfficiency Focused: Relies on machine guarding and operational procedures.

⚠️ Essential Safety Cautions & Operational Integrity

  • 1. RPM Compliance: Never exceed the maximum R.P.M. specified on the wheel. Using the sides of the wheels for grinding is strictly prohibited, as it compromises the structural integrity of the abrasive bond.
  • 2. Mandatory Idling: Allow the tool to idle for one minute before beginning work. If a new wheel has been mounted, an idle run of three minutes is required to ensure dynamic stability.
  • 3. Workpiece Stability: All materials must be securely fastened. Improperly secured workpieces can lead to vibration, wheel binding, and unsafe kickback forces.
  • 4. Arbor Hole Integrity: Do not modify or enlarge the metal center of the arbor hole. A proper fit is critical; a mismatched arbor causes eccentric rotation and dangerous vibration levels.
  • 5. PPE Requirements: Industrial-grade face and eye protection are mandatory at all times. Ensure all protective gear meets local safety compliance standards.
  • 6. Guard Protection: Protection guards are designed to contain fragments in the unlikely event of a wheel failure. Never operate tools or machinery with guards removed.

Professional Export & Maintenance Insight

When deploying Fuji high-performance tools in overseas markets, ensure that the regional power grid frequency and voltage match the tool specifications. To maintain the superior burst speed safety of Fuji wheels, store abrasives in a dry, temperate environment. Humidity can degrade the resin bond, potentially lowering the wheel’s resistance to centrifugal forces.

🛡️ Electrical Appliance & Safety Compliance

This product strictly complies with the Electrical Appliance and Material Safety Technology Standards (Noise Countermeasures), revised under the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) Ordinance No. 57.

*Official Enforcement Date: April 1, 2013. This ensures maximum electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and operational stability in industrial environments.

How to Read Operational & Safety Symbols

Fuji Tool Safety Symbols Chart

Key Safety Indicators:

  • Double Insulation: Marked by the "square-in-a-square" symbol, indicating no grounding is required for safe operation.
  • Noise Suppression: Compliance with Ordinance No. 57 prevents interference with other electronic equipment.
  • Mandatory PPE: Visual cues for hearing, eye, and respiratory protection.

Professional Note: For global industrial procurement, these Japanese METI standards ensure that Fuji tools meet high-level noise reduction requirements, critical for precision workshops across Europe and North America.
